As Chris looked into his date Heidi's eyes, he couldn't help feel that he was incredibly lucky to be here. After all, she was gorgeous, smart, and made him feel like a million dollars. Per her suggestion, they met up at a fancy restaurant to celebrate their first date; they'd previously chatted over texts and social media, so it was a big deal.
However, there was more to her than things seemed.
You see, "Heidi" was one of the many personalities invented by a shapeshifter named Michael. His shtick was that in every persona, he'd build up a relationship with unsuspecting guys (generally via dating sites), butter them up and manipulate them into treating him, then gradually ghosting them before moving on to the next target. With the goods they bought for him, all the guys had made it considerably easier for Michael to fake the histories of these "girls": he'd invested in green screen, top-of-the-line photo editing software, and a large, luxurious wardrobe for all occasions. As Chris, who was happily feasting on the sight of "Heidi", could attest to, said wardrobe was paying off big time-he 100% focused on "her". Naturally, this would be exploited later, especially when it came to the bill!
But for now, "Heidi' would be focused on having a great night with her great date. With a seductive giggle accompanying that world-class smile, she decided it was time to kick things off.
"So babe, I like a man who isn't afraid to show off. I'm awfully thirsty, so could you order a drink for me?" came the purr.
God, there was a sucker born every minute. Michael's night was about to go from good to incredible!
